ShopRite Gets Dumped On in Colonie, NY

An unexpected visit to the Colonie, NY ShopRite has shown some unusual disturbances in the practically uniform cart selection. Uniform in this case is defined as 2013 Unarco M90ZXs and 2018 Technibilt Renaissances.

Photos were taken on the 18th, 25th of June, 2021, and 19th of July, 2021.

These black-on-grey Technibilt units alerted me to a strange change in the fleet. This one is the oldest, dated 1/01.

2015 Technibilt #1412 units with ghost Acme logos, presumably from a store that either simply upgraded its fleet or got new carts in a remodel.

This 2006 Unarco M90 was originally from ShopRite #220, which is the Bedford Hills, NY location. It is not known when they got rid of them, as many of the ShopRite stores in the NY/NJ area swap their fleets frequently.

2003 Unarco PC41U, which dons an aftermarket seat flap. The ShopRite logo is also a decal, possibly hinting a previous life as a Walmart cart as well.

2006 Unarco M100Z, originally a Stop & Shop unit.

Undated Unarco PC-40 with a classic ShopRite logo. It appears the logo was painted out at some point, but eventually wore off exposing this logo. There is a cleaner one without the paint all over the logo.

Peggs KNM650, manufactured prior to 2012.

2008 Technibilt #6240. A large number of the wire carts dumped here consist of these.

Hazy photo of a random Technibilt in the rear cart bay. The store directory indicates this came from the Chester, NY location. So Downstate DOES have a lot of explaining to do!
